Proposal to get Hyrule Role-play ON TRACK

During this whole attempt to get Hyrule into a Role-play Mood of a Sim, Organization is almost nonexistent. We don't have a clear story. No Clear Can's/Can Not's on Characters. And no Organized RP Structure.

So my proposal is this
>Shut Down Public Access to Hyrule and Finish up ALL the builds to Hyrule so that we don't have to wait. Focus on that.
>Create a Solid Vendor Area and advertise it
>Create a OOC Hangout Area so people can still be here, but not interfere with Roleplay.
>Draft a NEW Sim Rules Sheet that has clearly and very defined rules.
>Create a storyline, put it in note cards, and give it to people when they enter the Sim
>Create a solid Character Application for Special Characters, IE powers and abilities that would put them in Over Powered Territory.
>Create Faction Application's for Non-Cannon Groups that would like to RP here
>Set up Rent Boxes in ALL buildings so that characters and factions can have HQ's and the like.

After all this is done, Reopen the Sim back up, and promote it as a ROLEPLAY. Not a Hang out. Enforce OOC only in the Main area and Item Mall, and In Character in the Actual Sim. This means enforcing In Theme Avatars when not in The Main Sim.

I've said it before and I will say it again- we are not going to enforce strict in character while wandering around sim.

Shutting down public access will not speed up builds in the sim, because we are at the mercy of the will and availability of our builders anyway, who aren't able to be on all the time.

Agreed on advertising a vendor area and a new ruleset. Roleplay cannot happen without SOME organization, even if it will not attract hardcore RPers who keep suggesting we turn into a pure RP sim.

A more defined story should be in the works already, but we will need to poke our writers on that. More than that, proper villains need some sort of way to propse events to run so that there are good people to fight them. I'm not going to pull that job off all by myself.

One rule I would like to see is that once we start major RP events, those areas will be considered IC and that visitors will have to remain quiet during those.

If we can't enforce In Character, Then I suggest an Mandatory llSetText OOC Tag to be given out, and enforce at least THAT so we don't get those people running around confusing role players.

Yeah I would never enforce roleplay, but as far as an OOC tag,I don't think that would be too bad. It is nice to know who is just an observer.

So do I have a green light on creating and passing out OOC Tags? Any Idea's on what color they should be?

So long as nobody has a reason why we shouldn't. As for color...I got no clue.

Red is out. People apparently HATE Red. I say Red for the simple reason is that it stands out. But other input is always welcome.

I would suggest the opposite... Have those that WANT to be IC wear a titler. OOCers having to wear one makes it look like the sim is enforcing Roleplay... and visitors are less likely to realize they need to wear a tag, vs. the people coming to actually role play.

Gem's concern is my concern. I want to drill into Carter some sort of non-combat mode as has been suggested by Bearded Dragon into ZRCS so that people IC can wear it without feeling like they are opting into combat at a moment's notice. This would also offer an opportunity for someone who knows the command to force people into combat mode, say for tournament startups.

Hmm... Well, Lets at least have OOC Tag an option when they arrive. Don't force it, just ask them to wear it if they want to. I also was suggested that the ZRCS have an ON/OFF Switch to put you in Non-Combat mode and technically OOC.

I se no reason why RPers can't have an OOC tag for themselves, I just know that if we have one I'm not enforcing OOC people wear it unless there's some simwide event we posted about earlier.

The Post Office still gets letters for applications to the Hylian Knights. For a time, I was delivering them to Ick, but I'm not sure he's still running that show, or if there is someone else that should be notified. The letters don't have any addressee that I can see, and the instructions are to just put it in the mail box.

Is that guild still active or did it disappear?

Indeed. I still need to sit down with Ickolas on where the new building will be.
